Four steps
How to make t-shirt mockups for free
No install, no card. Create a free account and the generator opens straight away.
- STEP 1
Pick a blank
11 photographed styles across 4 blanks: Bella+Canvas 3001, Comfort Colors 1717, Gildan 64000, Gildan 18000. Flat lay, folded and worn.
- STEP 2
Drop in your designs
Transparent PNGs. They are read by your own browser and never uploaded — there is no server that sees your artwork at any point.
- STEP 3
Tick the colors
As many as you want, up to all 158 on the widest style. Colors are not rationed here; "Select all" takes the whole range.
- STEP 4
Download the ZIP
Every design on every color you ticked, at the mockup's native resolution, no watermark, each file named by its color. One folder per design.
No catch, stated plainly
What is free, and what an account adds
Including the limits. A page that hides them gets quoted with them anyway, by the first person who hits one.

The free column is not a demo of the paid one. It is the same renderer producing the same files — what an account changes is how many designs go through it at once and where their settings come from.
The blanks
Which t-shirts you can mock up for free
Counted from the photographs in this catalogue, not copied off a supplier sheet.

| Comfort Colors 1717 | 75 | 428 | 7 |

Free Bella+Canvas 3001 mockup generator
169 colorways · 210 mockups
The longest colour list in common print-on-demand use, and most of that length is heathers, triblends and marbles. A retail fit rather than a boxy one, which is why it carries fitted and unisex listings where the 1717 would read as oversized.
Free Comfort Colors 1717 mockup generator
75 colorways · 428 mockups
Garment-dyed, so the colour sits soft and slightly uneven and every shirt is a little different. It is the blank most vintage and coastal shops build on, and the one where a spec-sheet swatch misleads you most — which is why every colour here was sampled from the photograph instead.
Free Gildan 64000 mockup generator
50 colorways · 50 mockups
Softstyle is the cheapest blank here that still photographs like a retail shirt, which makes it the volume choice — the one shops use when margin matters more than the label on the neck.
Free Gildan 18000 mockup generator
31 colorways · 31 mockups
The crewneck sweatshirt, and the reason a shop's autumn listings do not all look like summer ones. Heavier garment, heavier drape, and a different set of colours from any of the tees.
A colorway is a shade the garment is made in. A mockup is a photograph, and there are more of those because the same shade shot flat and folded is two files. Every one of them is free to use here. Browse all 719 in the catalog.
What you just used
The same renderer the paid tool runs
There is no reduced free version of the output. The files are identical.
Your artwork stays put
Compositing happens in your browser on your own machine. There is no upload step, no queue, and no copy of your design on anyone's server.
No watermark, no downscale
Every file comes out at its mockup's native resolution, up to 4096 × 4096. What you downloaded is what you would get inside an account.
Swatches from the photographs
Colors are sampled from the real mockup images rather than copied off a brand chart, so what you see is what prints.
What an account adds
Two rows differ. The rest is the same tool.
- Unlimited mockups, instead of stopping at 25
- Every design you have in a single run, not three at a time
- Your Printify connection stored against your account rather than your browser
- A thumbnail nominated per listing, marked in the file name
- Batch settings remembered per style, so the next run starts where you left off
The difference
Everything that decides whether a mockup is any good — the photographs, the placement, the resolution, the Printify import — is in the free tool. What 25 mockups cannot cover is a whole shop, and that is the only thing the plan is for.
Or don't render at all
Buy the photographs instead
The generator puts your design on a blank. The packs are the blanks themselves — 719 finished photographs across 11 styles, every colorway, as image files. People buy them to composite in Canva or Photoshop, to build listing graphics, or simply because they would rather download once than render.
One payment, no account needed, download starts straight away. The generator above stays free either way.
FAQ
Free mockup generator questions
- Is there a free t-shirt mockup generator with no watermark?
- This one. Every file it produces comes out at the mockup's native resolution — up to 4096 × 4096 — with nothing stamped on it and nothing cropped. It is the same renderer the paid version runs, so the output is identical, not a reduced free sample.
- Is it really free?
- Yes. Create a free account, drop your PNGs in, pick a mockup, tick the colors you want and hit generate. No card, no time limit and nothing expires. You get 25 mockups to spend however you like — no cap on designs, colors or batches.
- Is this an AI mockup generator?
- No, and deliberately not. Every blank here is a real photograph of the real garment — the Comfort Colors 1717 you ship is the Comfort Colors 1717 in the picture, with its actual drape, texture and colour. An AI image is a shirt that does not exist, which is a problem on a listing where the buyer is deciding what they will receive. Your design is composited onto the photograph, nothing is invented, and the output is the same every time you run it.
- Do I need to sign up?
- Yes — a free account, which takes an email and nothing else. No credit card, no payment details, nothing to cancel and no time limit. The reason is that the 25 mockups are attached to the account rather than to a browser, so they follow you between your laptop and your desktop and clearing your cookies does not lose what you have left.
- Which t-shirt blanks can I use for free?
- There are 4, across 11 photographed styles: Bella+Canvas 3001 (169 colorways), Comfort Colors 1717 (75 colorways), Gildan 64000 (50 colorways), Gildan 18000 (31 colorways). That is 325 colorways and 719 mockup photographs in total, and every one of them is browsable without an account in the catalogue.
- How many mockups can I make at once?
- As many designs across as many colors as you like, up to whatever is left of your 25. One design across all 158 colors of the widest style is 158 files; four designs across sixty colors is 240. It all comes down as one ZIP, one folder per design.
- Do I need Photoshop, Canva or any software?
- No. It runs in a normal web browser with nothing to install. You need one thing: your design saved as a PNG with a transparent background, which is what Printify wants from you anyway.
- Can I use the mockups on Etsy and sell with them?
- Yes. The files are yours to list with, commercially, exactly like the ones generated inside a paid account. There is no separate licence for the free version.
- Where does my design go? Is it uploaded anywhere?
- Nowhere. The mockups are composited in your own browser and the ZIP is written straight to your disk. There is no upload step, no queue and no server that ever receives your artwork — which is also why it is fast and why it costs nothing to offer.
- What file format does my design need to be?
- A PNG with a transparent background. That is the same file you would upload to Printify, at the same size — there is no need to resize or flatten anything first, and the design is drawn at its original resolution rather than a downscaled copy.
- Does it work on a phone?
- The page loads on a phone, but the rendering happens on your own device, so a batch of a hundred and fifty full-size images is a laptop or desktop job. For a handful of colors a phone is fine.
- Why does the first run take a while?
- Every color in the batch is a real photograph that has to be downloaded before it can be composited, and one style runs to 158 of them. The wait is the download, not the rendering — once they are cached, a second run on the same style is far quicker.
- How is this different from Placeit or Canva mockups?
- Those are template libraries: you open one template, drop a design in, export one image, repeat. This is a batch renderer — one placement is applied across every color of a real photographed blank in a single run. If you sell one color, a template library is the better tool. If you sell fifty, the arithmetic is the whole problem.
- What is the catch?
- Not the features. The free tool has the same controls the paid one does — position, scale, rotation, opacity, colour-name labels in four styles, your own logo across the batch — and produces the same files. What is capped is one number: 25 mockups in total. Run them in one batch or in fifty, over an afternoon or over a year — nothing resets and nothing expires. After that it is $9.99 a month for as many as you like.
Keep going once the 25 are spent.
