FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How the tool works, what it costs, and what stays on your machine.

The basics

What does Colormockups actually do?

You upload transparent PNG designs, place one on a garment mockup, pick the colors you sell, and Colormockups renders every design on every color at full resolution and hands you a single ZIP. Three designs across thirty colors is ninety finished mockups from one placement.

Who is it for?

Print-on-demand sellers who list the same design in many colors: Etsy shops, Printify and Printful users, Amazon Merch sellers, anyone who is tired of exporting mockups one color at a time.

Do my designs get uploaded anywhere?

No. Rendering happens entirely in your browser. Your design files never leave your computer, and the finished ZIP is written straight to your disk. Our servers only handle sign-in and, if you use it, the Printify connection.

Which garments and mockups are included?

Currently Comfort Colors 1717, Bella+Canvas 3001, Gildan 18000 and Gildan 64000 in flat lay and folded scenes, with every stock color for each. New styles are added regularly and every plan gets them automatically.

Can I upload my own mockup photos?

Not yet. Bring-your-own-mockup is the most requested feature and it is next on the list. For now you choose from the built-in styles.

Output

What resolution are the files?

Each style renders at its own native size, up to 4096×4096 pixels. You can choose Full or Half resolution per batch. Nothing is upscaled, so the detail you get is real.

Which file formats can I export?

PNG (lossless), WebP (lossless, roughly 45% smaller) or JPEG at quality 95. Etsy listings accept PNG and JPEG; WebP is handy for your own storage.

How are the files named?

The ZIP is organised as one folder per design, and inside it each file is named with the color index and color name, for example "04 - Black.png". You can also mark one color per design as the listing thumbnail and it gets a "(thumbnail)" suffix so you know what to upload first.

Can I add my shop logo or the color name to each mockup?

Yes. Turn on the color label and pick one of four styles, and drop in a logo or watermark once. Both land in the same spot on every file in the batch.

How big can a batch be?

As big as your colors times your designs. A full 58-color set across several designs is a few gigabytes of PNGs. Renders run one at a time and stream to disk, so the batch finishes cleanly instead of crashing the tab.

Printify

How does the Printify import work?

Paste a Printify personal access token, pick the products you want, and Colormockups pulls each product's front artwork, its enabled colors and its placement. Printify color names are matched to the mockup colors automatically, and anything uncertain is flagged for you to check.

Is my Printify token safe?

It is encrypted on our server with AES-256-GCM and never reaches browser JavaScript. It is used only to call Printify on your behalf, and Disconnect deletes it outright rather than marking it inactive. Requesting account deletion destroys it immediately too.

Do I need Printify to use Colormockups?

No. Printify import is a shortcut for people who already have products set up. Uploading PNGs directly works exactly the same.

Browsers and devices

Which browser should I use?

Chrome or Edge on a desktop computer. They can stream large batches straight to disk. Firefox and Safari work for smaller batches but hold the ZIP in memory, so very large sets may fail there.

Does it work on a phone or tablet?

The site opens, but rendering hundreds of full-resolution images needs a desktop browser and a decent amount of memory. Use a laptop or desktop for batches.

Does it work offline?

You need a connection to sign in and to fetch the mockup images. Once a batch is running it only uses your own machine.

Plans and billing

How much does it cost?

$9.99 a month, or $89.99 a year which saves 25%. Both plans are identical and both include unlimited mockup generation. Every new account starts with a 3-day free trial.

Is there a free plan?

No. There is a 3-day free trial instead, with everything unlocked. A payment method is required to start it, and you will be charged when the trial ends unless you cancel first.

Why do you need my card for a free trial?

So the subscription can start automatically if you decide to keep it, and so one person cannot open account after account for endless free trials. Nothing is charged during the three days, and cancelling in that window costs you nothing.

When exactly will I be charged?

Three days after you complete checkout, to the hour. The exact date and time is shown on the pricing page before you pay, on your account page throughout the trial, and in the email we send 24 hours before the charge.

How do I pay?

Checkout is handled by Lemon Squeezy, our payment partner and merchant of record. You can pay by credit or debit card, PayPal, and Apple Pay or Google Pay where your device supports them. Tax is calculated at checkout and you get a proper invoice.

Can I cancel any time?

Yes, in one click from your account page. Cancel during the trial and you are never charged. Cancel after paying and you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for, then the generator locks. Nothing you downloaded is affected.

Do you offer refunds?

If your first payment goes through and the tool is not right for you, email us within 14 days and we will refund it in full. Renewals are not automatically refundable, but write to us if one caught you out. The refund policy has the detail.

What does unlimited actually mean?

No monthly export allowance and no credits. There is a ceiling of 2,000 files in a single batch, which protects your own browser rather than your allowance, and a limit on batches per hour to stop automated abuse. Ordinary use will never meet either. The fair use policy explains the rest.

What happens when my subscription ends?

You can still sign in and see your billing details, but the generator is locked until you subscribe again. Mockups you already downloaded are yours to keep and use commercially, forever.

Can I use the mockups commercially?

Yes. Mockups you generate can be used in your product listings, shop banners, social posts and ads for products you sell. You cannot resell or redistribute the blank mockup images themselves.
